Connecting with Students

Second grade students!  Are you ready for a field trip?

In second grade we study animal habitats as. part of our Science curriculum.  We thought it would be fun to kick off this unit with a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo.
  1. Follow the link to the San Diego Zoo Seesaw activity Learn about Giant Pandas today.
  2. When you are finished, tell me what you learned on this document.
  3. When you are finished and have submitted your work to our Google Classroom, go back to the San Diego Zoo and learn about some different animals.

NOTE: Idaho Content Standards for Second Grade: Students explore different animal habitats (forest, desert, water, rainforest, and wetland) and how different plants and animals survive in those habitats.  Students who demonstrate understanding can: LS2-2-1. Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats (Idaho State Department of Education).
This activity will be completed at home on any internet-enabled device.  Students will have prior understanding of how to retrieve assignments from Google Classroom, print their response sheet, and upload a photo to Class Dojo.  Assignments will be submitted through Class Dojo will appear on their student portfolio  for parents to view and comment.
